Class Fieldtrip to the Zoo!

Class Fieldtrip to the Zoo!

February 14, 2011

Our class is going on a fieldtrip to the zoo!
February 25th
Leave school at 9:00 AM and return to school at 1:30 PM
Cost is $1.50/student, $3.00/adult

Money is due by Friday, February 18th to receive the school discount rate. Also, return signed permission slips by Friday, February 18th. Parents are welcome to join us, but must drive their own vehicles. Students will ride the bus. We will take sack lunches from school and eat at the zoo.

Watch the weather, and dress accordingly! (When the weather is cool, and fewer visitors are around, the animals are more likely to be active!)

Contact your child's teacher if you have questions.

See you at the zoo!

Barney Bear Backpack Family Letter

Dear Family,
Today, your child was selected to bring home Barney Bear. Barney Bear loves adventures and making new friends! He loves to read and listen to stories. Inside his backpack are:
1. Some of Barney's favorite books and tapes
2. Barney's tape player with an AC adapter
3. Barney Bear's Postcard Folder
4. Barney's markers and pencil
Take very good care of Barney's things. Put them all carefully in his backpack when you finish.
This evening, find a cozy place to read and listen to the stories with Barney Bear. Afterward, help your child fill out a postcard from Barney Bear. (See my example). Tell something special Barney did during his visit at your home. On the back of the postcard, draw a picture about Barney's visit. Place Barney's finished postcard in his folder. Return the backpack, with all Barney's things inside, to school tomorrow (or the next school day). Then, another child can also enjoy a visit from Barney Bear.
I hope you have fun with the Barney Bear this evening! If you have questions, please call me.
Sincerely, Mrs. Wise

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up on March 3 and 4. I will send home a schedule next week.

I hope students are enjoying the Everyday Math Online Games. Reading CD's with all the stories from the student textbooks are available for you to use at home on PCs or Macintosh. The CD's are interactive, they read the stories to your child. If you would like to check out a Treasures CD, please send a note with your child, or come by the classroom, and I will sign one out to you. You do not need the internet to use the Treasures CD.
